A little introduction

Developer roots.
Platform mindset.

I’m Jordan, a platform engineer in Cheltenham with a background in building websites and a habit of getting curious about what’s underneath.

Building it. Running it. Understanding both.

My career has taken me from multimedia and web design into senior web development, and now platform engineering. That background means I think about infrastructure through the eyes of the people building on it.

At Journey, I helped build an AWS EKS hosting platform as part of a two-person team, then independently migrated 150 websites onto it. Along the way, I moved repositories to GitHub, set up Docker development environments, and helped six web developers adopt the new workflow.

These days, my work includes AWS infrastructure, Terraform, Spacelift, GitHub Actions, and monitoring. I enjoy the practical improvements: an environment that starts with one command, a deployment that needs fewer manual steps, or a staging site that cleans up after itself.

Good tools give people
more room to build.

Outside the day job

My homelab runs on Proxmox, hosting a Plex media server and a personal Kanban board, with access through Tailscale. I’m also setting up a self-hosted wiki to give my technical notes a home.

I’ve built a question-and-answer site to support my AWS certification study. Making something is often how I get to understand it.
